The Archives Database

This is the beginning of an archive collection. You can contribute here. You do not need to know loads of information about a former Ruskin student before you contribute. This is a collective project. We encourage others to fill in the gaps! NB: a few of the entries listed below are still unpublished drafts, clicking their links will return a ‘Not Found’ page

    1. Celia Wells

I grew up in Oxford, both my parents were involved with Ruskin in the 1950s. I am working on a project about the CP (they were members), education policy etc.
I have some photographs and think at least one is a Ruskin cohort.
My father, Edward James Faulkner, was awarded a Mature State Scholarship to do a degree at North Staffs (now Keele) in 1957 or 1958. I am sure he was a student at Ruskin before that.
My mother, Muriel Joan Faulkner, also attended courses and then went on to take a Cert Ed at the Institute of Education in 1959 or 1960. She was allowed to do this as a non graduate on the basis of her Ruskin Diploma (I think).
If there are any records or recollections of their time at Ruskin I would be very grateful to see or hear about them. I have an idea that my mother also worked part time at the College.
